Metris Laser on a Global CMM.

Hexagon use Metris 3D scanners for laser inspection speed that is sensationally reduced compared to tactile probes. Dimensional inspection with or without CAD and Reverse engineering is now possible at high speed without contact probing.
Hexagon with Metris offers seamlessly integrated scanning, inspection and reverse engineering solutions with the LC15, LC50 or the new XC50 scanner heads. Metris Probes can be retrofitted to
your CMM.

About Metris
Metris is the market leader for CMM based 3D laser scanning including downstream applications such as full part to CAD inspection and reverse engineering. Metris mainly focuses on the automotive and aerospace industries.
Metris is unique in its strategy of providing total hardware and software solutions. The Metris hardware portfolio consists of optical probes that digitize various sized objects using laser light. The software solutions comprise applications for optimized digitization, quality inspection and reverse engineering.
Hundreds of prominent customers have chosen to partner with Metris, broadening and maturing Metris’ solutions portfolio. Metris customers include Airbus, DaimlerChrysler, BMW, VW, GM, Honda, Opel, Toyota, Johnson Controls, Lear, Ericsson, Pilkington, Siemens, SONY, Adidas and many more.
Metris’ laser scanning market leadership is affirmed by alliances with major CMM partners such as Brown & Sharpe and DEA

High Speed Laser Scanning

The XC50 Cross Scanner is a revolutionary new solution for feature measurement. The Cross Scanner is a patented high-speed, multi-stripe laser sensor that enables more efficient scanning of features such as holes, slots and gap & step that are typically inspected in automotive applications. Traditionally such features are inspected using tactile probes mounted on Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM's). The Cross Scanner complements the tactile probing methodology with a high speed non-contact approach for feature measurement. Aside from the single laser stripe solution oriented towards digitizing and full part inspection, this multi stripe laser sensor completes Metris' unrivalled range of integrated solutions for all aspects of laser scanning.

Hand Held CMM

K-Series cameras measure the position of infrared LEDs by means of linear CCD cameras. Through triangulation, the 3D position of each LED is calculated. 9 LEDs are built into the handheld SpaceProbe, an ergonomically device that enables an inspector to measure the actual 3D data of an inspection part in single point or scanning mode. The optical measuring CMMs are available in a portable and a mobile configuration.
