Reconditioned CMM options

When you chose a "reconditioned" or "2nd User" CMM you make a considerable saving compared to new prices. Our entire stock of "2nd user" CMM's are put through a rigourous QA system to ensure they are going to provide the new owners with the highest quality reconditioned machines possible. Remember; "2nd user" CMM's are available on strictly "first come first served" terms. It depends on availability and what is in stock; you could ask to be listed for the future if you need something specific.

Some do take a punt at auction, or from a sale. It's a choice and it is a risk?... there are also hidden costs! .. is that worth it?

if you think so consider....

  • Is it value for money?
  • Do I get a warranty?
  • How do I know it is a good deal?
  • Who is going to support and service the CMM?
  • What about spares?
  • Has the machine been looked after?
  • What if its got faults or parts missing?
  • Will it run the modern software and link to modern computers?

Inspection in the workplace

I want a CMM or 3D gauge to inspect parts in the workplace, Is this practical? I'm told CMM's and the workplace don't mix, can they? Is there a choice?

Most CMM's are NOT suitable for harsh conditions but Discovery and ONE are specifically designed for this purpose. ONE and Discovery, are available in various sizes on a small footprint especially suited for production areas, all have moving parts protected against contaminant found in the production environment. These really are designed to work in the "heart of production".

Both CMM's are vibration tolerant with an extended temperature range to ensure accuracy is maintained. With Discovery and ONE, you use no compressed air; so NO trailing pipes or expensive refrigerant filters to supply a clean air supply thats a requirement for "normal" CMM's.

Using traditional machine tool slide-ways and running only on 110/240V these have a reduced cost of ownership and provides a higher ROI.
